Setup

Linux

On a Linux computer the subscription works through the third-party app Happ: we don't have our own Linux app. It installs like any regular program: download the file, double-click it, press Install. No command line needed.

App: Happ, third-partyTakes five minutesUses 1 device slot

Open the wizard

In the dashboard press «Подключить VPN» (Connect VPN). If you opened it on a Linux computer, the dashboard picks Linux and the Happ app by itself. Press «Начать установку» (Start setup).

Linux and Happ are already selected.

Five steps

  1. Download Happ. Press the button for your system: DEB for Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint, RPM for Fedora and openSUSE, Arch for Arch Linux and Manjaro. The file is saved to your Downloads folder.

Step 1 of the wizard: three buttons, one per family of systems.
  2. Open the file with a double click. Go to Downloads and double-click the downloaded file Happ.linux.x64.deb.

The downloaded file in the Downloads folder.
  3. Press Install. App Center opens. The system warns that the program is not from its catalogue: this happens with any program downloaded from a website. Press Install, confirm once more and enter your computer password. When the button changes to Installed, you can close the window.

    App Center: the Install button.
The password is the one you use to sign in to the computer.
  4. Hand over the subscription. Go back to the dashboard, press «Я уже установил · Далее» (Already installed · Next), then «Скопировать ссылку подписки» (Copy subscription link). Open Happ from the applications list: it shows a paste field right away. Press the icon to the right of the field, the link fills in by itself, then press the button under the field.

Step 2 of the wizard: the «Скопировать ссылку подписки» button.
Happ on first launch: the link is pasted, one button left to press.
  5. Turn it on. The top item «Умный автовыбор» (smart auto-select) is already selected in the list. Press the big round button: the status changes to connected and a timer starts.

Connected: the timer runs under the button.

The screenshots were taken on Ubuntu 24.04 with a Russian interface. On other systems the windows look different, the order is the same.

If the double click did not open the installer

On some systems the file opens with something other than the installer. Then install it with one command. Open the Downloads folder, right-click an empty area, choose Open in Terminal and enter the command for your system:

Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint
sudo apt install ./Happ.linux.x64.deb

Fedora
sudo dnf install ./Happ.linux.x64.rpm

Arch Linux, Manjaro
sudo pacman -U ./Happ.linux.x64.pkg.tar.zst

The system asks for your computer password. It is not shown while you type, that is normal: type it and press Enter.

Fallback: INCY

If Happ does not suit you, pick INCY in the «Приложение» (App) block of the wizard. The order is the same: download the file, install it with a double click, press «Скопировать ссылку подписки» in the dashboard. In INCY press «Вставить» (Paste), then the big button. When you turn it on, INCY asks for your computer password.

INCY on Linux: the subscription is added with the Paste button, the VPN is on.
Turn on one at a time

Do not turn on Happ and INCY at the same time. If you installed both, turn one off before turning on the other.

Done, now check it

A one-minute check confirms the VPN is really on: Check it works.
